Hydraulic Breaker Specifications: Read a Data Sheet Before You Buy

Read hydraulic breaker data-sheet fields, compare carrier requirements, and prepare a model-specific inquiry.

Hydraulic breaker specifications are useful only when compared with a particular carrier and job. A headline weight or impact rate cannot confirm compatibility on its own. Start with the excavator model and the manufacturer’s approved attachment range.

The fields that matter

Read hydraulic breaker specifications as a group: service weight, carrier class, required oil flow, operating pressure, tool diameter and impact rate. Some sheets also list sound power and dimensions. Values may refer to different configurations, so check the sheet’s notes.

The most important hydraulic breaker specifications for the hydraulic circuit are the specified flow and pressure range. Compare those with the carrier’s auxiliary circuit at the attachment, not merely its main pump rating. A dealer or qualified technician should confirm the test conditions.

When hydraulic breaker specifications show a broad carrier class, treat that as a screening range. The actual mounting bracket, pin dimensions, hose routing and machine stability still need review. Never assume two hammers of similar mass are interchangeable.

Compare like with like

Put hydraulic breaker specifications from different suppliers in a side-by-side sheet. Record the model and publication date for each figure. An impact-rate number without operating conditions is a poor basis for a productivity claim.

Ask whether hydraulic breaker specifications describe a bare unit or a unit with a bracket and tool. Clarify which tool diameter and length apply. Confirm the recommended hydraulic connection and any return-line requirements in the approved installation manual.

Sound figures in hydraulic breaker specifications may be sound power, not the noise measured at an operator’s ear. Do not compare these with workplace exposure limits as though they were the same measurement.

Hydraulic breaker specifications checklist

Hydraulic breaker specifications should include documented test conditions, drawing revision, approval and configuration details.

For a hydraulic breaker specifications review, send the excavator make, model, serial number, auxiliary-flow and pressure data, bracket dimensions and intended material. Include photos of the couplers and existing attachment plate where possible.

If hydraulic breaker specifications omit a field, ask for a dated product sheet or written technical clarification. Also ask which tools and wear parts are included. Do not invent a missing value from another model’s brochure.

Before approving an order, confirm hydraulic breaker specifications against the exact quoted configuration and the carrier’s manual. Keep the final drawing, installation instructions and serial-specific parts list with the purchase record.

See our carrier matching guide for the broader decision. Send your hydraulic breaker specifications comparison to LICHI for a model-specific review; fit and supply require confirmation.
